Sensory Dialogues

In Sensory Dialogues, Parvathi looks at the ways in which we communicate with each other, what are our means and tools for passing information, and how effective they are. The artist here works with imagery that includes phonetic text and microscopic images, all meticulously rendered in hand-drawn graphite on wooden boxes, paired with handdrawn text on the walls.

Sensory Dialogues

Sensory Dialogues
Sensory Dialogues, was installed with a pair of additional graphite-on-wood drawings, Dialogues i and Dialogues ii, and handwritten text by Parvathi Nayar, at the show Drawing Out Conversations, Fost Gallery Singapore, 2008, an affiliate show of the Singapore Biennale 2008.

Win Lose Draw

In this specifically commissioned installation for ARTSingapore 2007, Parvathi’s graphite drawings on wood are installed within a specially designed construction by Soon Kin. Playful and profound, the installation uses the metaphor of the game – and the physical experience of the constricted intimacy of the womb – to talk of how our lives are governed by choice and chance.
